Warrior Mother: “I establish clear boundaries”
“One life is all we have, and we live it as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are and to live without belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying.”
—Joan of Arc
Course description:
Participants will identify their history, processes and effectiveness of engagement with establishing of appropriate boundaries in all their relationships: intimate, family, professional, employment, social, career, national, cultural, interracial, political, and spiritual. We teach others how to treat us. How to properly communicate with yourself and to properly communicate with others how we want to be treated. How we make that clear as we supersede our cultural and societal conditioning and implant the spiritual revelations for alignment of our purpose with promoting our character.
General Course Purpose:
The course is designed to familiarize the participants how to tell the truth of the lies agreed upon! As we contemplate on being self-determining and actualized in our relationships.
Course Prerequisites:
A desire to be self-aware and fearlessly truthful in relating to ourselves and others
A desire to be self-aware and fearlessly truthful in relating to ourselves and others
Course Objectives:
We are living in society, communities, families, and a whole host of interrelationships yet we are sovereign or possessing supreme or ultimate power over ourselves and our available choices. The ancient Kemetic people of the Nile Valley used the symbol of the sphynx to symbolize this most important concept. So important 12,000 years ago they built this structure that still stands today. The body temple represented by the cat: flexible, strong, a fierce hunter of prey when needed but when not required a “cool cat” with the ability to right themselves quickly if they are thrown off balance. The head of the Pharoah- – a supreme ruler spiritually consecrated by the opened spiritual vision of the 3rd eye represented by the Uatchet or snake. This represents a person who is Self-determining, Self-Ruling, Self-Controlling, leading themselves free of the influences of the animal nature but Self-directed, Self-governing and spiritually able to express their divine nature.
While it is still important to expand our base of knowledge and practice technical skills to improve our communication, we should also be in the mindset of “Sankofa”: Looking backward for deep-rooted underlying “truths” while simultaneously seeking innovation to systematically push the envelope forward to current applications of ancient wisdom.
Major Topics to be included:
When challenged with life’s lessons we must remember to remain calm and steady under pressure. Whether there are riptides, calm waters, tsunamis, storms at sea, or simply the movement of the tides, we are the captain of our ship on the sea of life. We must handle the ebbs and flows of life grounded in our knowing of ourselves as sovereign. We must have equanimity under duress!!!
“I read Aequanimitas (The writings of physician Sir William Osler) early in my career, which gave me my favorite quotation, ‘equanimity under duress,’ a concept emphasizing the importance of calmness and tranquility in confronting our daily problems,” Dr. LaSalle D. Leffall Jr. M.D.
